The Green Label becomes open

The Green Label project (shipping sustainability certification) has become an open and democratically managed project with a  Decentralized Autonomous Organization.

The founders of Logivery started the design of the Green Label in July 2022, as an operational tool to stimulate the market to adopt environmentally sustainable logistics processes.

Green Label is a label (on physical/paper and digital support) which, in addition to displaying the operational information on the shipment (recipient name, address, telephone, etc.), represents an environmental certification, i.e. proof that the processes, which are behind that label, applied to a box on a pallet, or more generally on a shipping unit, have been managed with Green methodology.

In June 2023, the procedure for the protection of the trademark was started by filing it with the Italian trademark and patent office (UIBM application no. 302023000097389 of 06/23/2023).

In August 2023, the idea of setting up a committee began with the aim of guiding and verifying that the environmental certification service for "Green Label" logistics processes is managed in a precise and transparent manner, and it was immediately decided to entrust the its management to a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) managed on blockchain technology, on the Polygon network and Aragon platform.

In October 2023 the decision arrived to open the project to all interested parties, in order to be able to develop it in an adequate institutional context, transferring the brand and the future of the Green Label to the DAO, which will change its name to "Logistic Green Label" ( abandoning the original “Logivery Green Label”).

The categories of subjects who will be invited to join the DAO are the following:

  • environmental associations representing the natural environment;
  • consumer associations
  • users of logistics services (individual commercial companies and marketplaces)
  • logistics operators (warehousing and transport of goods)
  • operators in the packaging sector
  • manufacturers of motor vehicles, other tools suitable for transporting goods and technical equipment
  • logistics support service companies, and among these Logivery s.r.l. and I on the partners
  • Universities, research institutions and individual experts
  • Other subjects and bodies deemed strategic for the project
